Biblically, waiting is not just something we have to do until we get what we want. Waiting is part of the process of becoming what God wants us to be. ~John Ortberg

I don't know if you've seen this... but Yay Jesus!!

A man fell into a pit and couldn't get himself out
a SUBJECTIVE person came along and said "I feel for you down there."

an OBJECTIVE person came along and said
"It's logical that someone would fall, down there."

a CHRISTIAN SCIENTIST came along: "You only think you are in a pit."

a PHARISEE said "Only bad people fall into a pit."

a MATHEMATICIAN calculated how he fell into the pit.

a NEWS REPORTER wanted an exclusive story on his pit.

a FUNDLEMENTIST said, "you DESERVE your pit."

CONFUCIUS SAID, " if you would have listened to me, you would not be in that pit."

BUDDHA said "Your pit is only a state of mind."

a REALIST said; "That's a pit."

a SCIENTEST calulated the pressure necessary (lbs./per sq inch) to get him
out of the pit.

a GEOLOGIST told him to appreciate the rock strata in the pit. . . .
an EVOLUTIONIST said: "You are a rejected
mutant destined to be removed from the
evolutionary cycle." In other words he is going to DIE in the pit, so that he can not produce any
"pitfalling" offspring.

The COUNTY INSPECTOR asked if he had a permit to dig a pit.

A PROFESSOR gave him a lecture on:
"The Elementary Principles of the pit."

An EVASIVE PERSON came along and avoided
the subject of his pit altogether.

A SELF-PITYING person said:
"You haven't seen anything til you have seen MY PIT."

A CHARISMATIC said: "Just confess that you are not in a pit."

An OPTIMIST said: "Things could be worse."

A PESSIMIST said: "Things will get worse!!"

JESUS seeing the man, took him by the hand, and LIFTED HIM OUT of the pit.

Psalm 40:1-2 I waited patiently for the LORD: He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

I loved this! All we need to do is just act and move. I read this to my husband since he is a geologist and just started laughing.

This "Pit" story was sent to me in an email. I wasn't sure you've seen it, but it was too good not to post. Yvette...your husband, the Geologist, must have really enjoyed it! I laughed when I read your comment! Awesome Jesus! God bless you all!

Isn't that just like salvation? Everyone tries to find every way around the simple solution! When all they really need to do is reach out to Christ... One man thinks he needs to give up everything to find Christ, another thinks he must do good works, some even think they have to climb stairs on their knees until they bleed to find Christ - When in fact the real answer is near to their heart!

You have done it once again Lori Law- You move me :) Great thought provoking piece!!!
