Committing yourself to Christ was the most important act of your life. But while you have come to the end of the old, dark road you traveled alone, you have just taken the first step on a brand new road with your Savior. Follow Him and you will find the answer to your question, “What now?”
~ These are the words from author Diane L. Harris from her book, “Stepping into the Light: You’re a Christian, what now?” I am delighted to do a book review for this book. Diane is a friend of mine, who also happens to be the author of the blog, Stepping into the Light.
“What now” is one of the many-- if not the most important question a new believer asks after taking that first step of accepting Christ. This book is a must have for new Christians! New believers can sometimes get easily overwhelmed in this whole Christianity thing. Diane is a former atheist who was raised by a Jewish father and a Jamaican-American mother who brought her up in the Episcopal Church. A very unique testimony! She eagerly relates what God has done for her personally. From being an atheist to now being a minister (wow!), Diane will help readers finding answers in God’s Word. With clarity and a humble sense of humor she takes the “ease” out of “Christian-ease!”
“Stepping into the Light: You’re a Christian, what now?” would be a great gift for someone who is starting their new lifelong journey with Jesus. It’s also great for you and me to read, because it will give us inspiration in our own Christian walk. Spiritual Warfare, The Old and New Testaments, God’s Promises, and the Church are well laid out and clearly explained. When you stepped into the light of Christ, a desire to know Him better began to grow inside of you. I release this book with the prayer that it helps you as it helped me to focus on the path to knowing our Savior and on how to grow a kingdom-building faith from the seed the Holy Spirit has planted in your heart.
